Another great week in Korea... Elder Skinner gets an Interesting Compliment!

Good morning, Everyone! Unless it's not morning when you read this, in which case, good whatever it is right now!

Korea's doing pretty well out here! The weather is nice, the people are too, and the food is still the best! This past week we went to the temple in Seoul, which was a great experience. It's a peaceful place, even though it's right in the middle of the city!

After that, we took a trip to Dongdaemun market, and we all got some new ties!

The rest of the week went along pretty normally. We visited some less-actives out in the country, Elder Eagar got a nasty blister on his foot, and Elder Mueller told me I'd be a good person to call if he needed to drag a dead body somewhere... So yeah, add that to the resume.

Brother Yi came to English class on Saturday (we weren't teaching that day though), and he mentioned he would want to get baptized! One of the sisters in the ward has been trying to make friends with his wife, and they feel a lot more comfortable coming out to things. They didn't come to church this week though.

But we did have one person at church! We met a person on the street on Friday named Sam (he's from Thailand) who said he wanted to come to church, and he came! Elder Eagar translated for him, and he learned a lot about the church. He's super great, we like him a lot.

Also this week we met Sang, who is a bit younger, and a little hyp
eractive, but he really likes the church, and likes us, so we met with him and talked a bit. He's really nice, we're hoping to work with him well the next little while.

In other news this week, we encountered a Buddhist monk! He talked to us, interested in going to America, and we talked a bit about religion but he didn't seem too interested in our message. I did get a picture with him, though!

So that's this week in a nutshell. Hope you all are doing well out there, I love each and every one of you! Never forget the importance of our message of peace to the world, and always remember that someone is there for you!

Seriously these bees are gigantic... Elder Skinner goes to America! (or does he?)

Hello everyone, I'm coming to you live from beautiful Korea, where I have yet again come into contact with huge, gigantic bees that seek my utter destruction!

So last week after emails, the whole district went out to Gapyeong, about 2 and a half hours away by train, to visit a member family. They're in the distant countryside, they have a nice house, with a bit of land, shared by the aforementioned bees. It was really pretty, I thought about moving there after my mission.

In other news, I have a new companion! His name is Elder Eagar, from Lehi, Utah, and so far he's super cool. He likes sports, but even more than that he loves missionary work!

We also have two new elders in our apartment, Elders Johnson and Ryu. Both are super awesome missionaries and I'm excited to work with them for this next transfer.

Elder Eagar's first day here, we met with Bei! He kinda just called us and we met at the church. We talked about prayer and invited him to church, but he didn't come. We still love him though.

But guess who did come to church? Brother Yi's family! She left her kids there for classes (as she had to do something else), but she promised to come next week! They are super awesome people.

This past Saturday as well us and the Ward put on an English Village! We spent some time helping elementary school kids practice English by role-playing real English scenarios, such as a school, hospital, and a 7-11! That was super fun, and with the ward involved it was a huge success.

In closing this week, I want to share a quote. I don't remember who it's by, but it says that "We are a perfect church, made up of imperfect people". Sometimes it's hard when other people, especially those in the church, make a mistake that causes problems for others. It's important to remember, though, that no one is perfect, and we should always be willing to help and forgive one another, even when it's hard.

Have a good week everyone! Work hard and have fun too!

So guess who won a board game yesterday... Elder Skinner discovers it's a bad idea to order Gochujang chicken!

Hello to all my friends, family, and anyone else that reads these emails! It's been quite a week of change out here in Gyomun Ward, since transfer calls arrived this Saturday!
My beloved companion, Elder Moore, will be transferring to Seoul (Hwayeong, to be exact- 화영), and both of the elders in my apartment are going to the same house in Dongdaemun (동대문)! Taking their places will be my new companion, Elder Eager, and Elder Johnson and his new Trainee! I won't be the newest missionary here!
In othernews this week, we've had a lot of potential investigators and people we've met on the street, but none have really followed through. It's sad, but we've been working hard and trying to make things work for us.
Not a lot else to report this week. We've been working a lot with the ward, and trying to help them come closer to Christ, so we've found some success in that.
So with that I'll end off with a scripture... Isaiah 58: 13-14;
13 ¶If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the Lord, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words:
14 Then shalt thou delight thyself in the Lord; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it.
I know that if we follow this scripture and call the Sabbath a delight, and turn away from our own ways thereon, we will be able to do more in 6 days than we could normally do on 7.
Hope you all are doing well out there! Work hard!
