안녕하세요, everyone!

Three weeks left! I'm excited, but I'm also super unprepared. I just wish I could learn Korean in like a day.

We got a new companion! He's a native Korean, named Elder Cho. I don't have any pictures yet (We only met him last night) but I will send them next week! He's a cool guy, we've already learned a lot from him.

The MTC is doing a christmas talent show kinda thing, and I'm gonna audition. They have guitars to play with, so maybe me and my roommates can have a jam session while I'm 'practicing'... All of them play guitar, except Elder Cho.

It's finally snowing over here... Hopefully it'll stick around this time. I never thought I'd want it to snow more in my life.

Yesterday we got to host the new missionaries coming in. It's great, I love ripping people away from their families for two years. :)

Overall, things are going well down here. I'll talk to y'all later, merry Christmas!

Almost there...

Only four more weeks at the MTC! I'm excited to get to Korea, but it's a little intimidating to not know the language very well. It's all good though.

One of our favourite sisters, sister Reed, had to go home yesterday. She had some trouble with her Seliac, so she's gonna go home and heal for a few months. We miss her a bunch.

We had an amazing speaker on Tuesday. His wife started off with the amazing quote, "The Lord might not have moved mountains for me, but... He helped me climb them". I think that's an awesome analogy.

Then he talked about how sometimes we don't see the danger in our actions. He encouraged us to think before we act, and listen to the spirit to guide us through our lives so we can take the right trail up the mountains. The devil would lead us to trails that seem easier, but are in fact a whole lot harder and will lead to much worse consequences.

I encourage everyone to listen to that counsel.

Good luck everybody, I'm thinking about y'all and hoping for the best.

DFTBA,
Elder Skinner

December 4th Update

Guess what? I'm half-way through the MTC! I can't believe in a month I'll be on a plane to South Korea. It doesn't feel quite real.

I think I found my new favourite scripture the other day... It's the first sentence of 2 Samuel 12:7. Finding a bunch of awesome scriptures in the MTC, including the first ever recorded food fight! (Zechariah 5:1) It's always fun to find funny scriptures, but there are some really awesome scriptures as well- I would recommend Mosiah 4.

We saw Vocal Point Sunday! They're an a-capella group from BYU, and they did the Sunday devotional. Great songs, great messages.

Speaking of great songs, I would strongly suggest you all sing/read all 7 verses of "A Poor Wayfaring Man of Grief" (Hymn 29). My favourite hymn by far.

I'm doing well down here, getting the hang of things and owning noobs at four square. I'm actually not that good, but I like to think I'm good.

Good luck and DFTBA to all,

안녕히 가세요!

Go in peace!
